February 05 - Into Asia
Since its inception in 1990 as a precision engineering company, Hydrowe Engineering has become a major success in the West Midlands. The company has expanded considerably in both size and scope. This has enabled it to offer clients a very diverse range of services such as extrusion and forging tools, rolls, valves and hydraulic equipment, specialized machinery and parts as well as a refurbishment service.

The success of Hydrowe has enabled it to service some of the major engineering companies in the UK. The company has a plant list that provides capability to conduct an extremely diverse range of products, working with materials ranging from stainless steels, cast iron, plastics and nylon, rubber, nimonics, inconel, titanium, stellite and other special materials.

Undoubtedly the most impressive investment the company has made is the opening of a new sister company, Hydrowe Engineering ( Asia). The UK-based company is successfully working across the automotive, aerospace and off-shore industries and the decision has been made to emulate this success on foreign shores. This new company has an ethos based on the same principles as its UK sister. These principles involve constantly investing in the latest technology, having a stable workforce with wide-ranging backgrounds and skills-base together and developing a quality system with full traceability that can be tailored to suit individual customer requirements.

The link with the UK company will prove very useful, enabling Hydrowe Engineering (Asia) to tap into different technology and supply sources as well as using it as additional capacity as the need arises.

In the UK the company was established as a contract machining service and has rapidly expanded to its current position as a trusted and well-respected supplier of consumable tooling and other high technology components. It is currently undergoing a further large investment programme, at the heart of which is a 5-axis Mazak Integrex CNC machine with the capability to produce components and tooling in one hit, thereby increasing efficiency and accuracy considerably.

Between the two companies Hydrowe will be able to offer an ever-expanding range of services, giving UK-based companies access to competitive machining rates and also giving Asian-based companies access to high tech equipment and an advanced skills base.

Hydrowe Engineering has always adopted a hands-on approach, working with customers to offer help and advice with new projects, helping to develop and improve tooling and working with customers to meet production deadlines.
